Mike Beardsley was born and raised in Rapid City, South Dakota. He graduated from Montana State University, in Bozeman, Montana in 2006. In 2010, he became a third-generation graduate from the University of South Dakota School of Law. While at law school Mike was a member of the school’s Mock Trial Team. Mike enjoys the outdoors and is an avid hunter. In September of 2010, Mike joined Beardsley Jensen & Lee where he handles all types of litigation.
Mike enjoys skiing, backpacking, and riding his Harley through the Black Hills. Mike is also an avid hunter who especially enjoys watching his dog Bodhi work for waterfowl and upland game. In 2011, Mike was married to his beautiful wife Nicole on an unnamed island in Southeast Alaska. His brother Todd, a resident Alaskan, was licensed for one day to officiate the ceremony.

- Lead counsel in a personal injury jury trial, obtaining a judgment in the amount of $140,052.01. The Defendant’s last offer of settlement prior to trial was $15,000. Medical expenses in the case were $23,000.

KT Entities v. Wiedmeier File No. CIV09-2009. - Co-counsel in a criminal defense jury trial regarding allegations of elderly abuse, helping to obtain a judgment of acquittal after the close of the state’s case.
State of SD v. Harvey, 4th Judicial Circuit, Lawrence County Court, File No. CR13-102. - Co-counsel in a personal injury action tried to the court obtaining a judgment in the amount of $197,183.29.

Community Activity
Since the beginning of his practice, Mike has been active in the local Pennington County Bar Association (PCBA). PCBA is an organization devoted to educating others about the role of lawyers in our communities as well as helping the financially needy organizations in the Rapid City area. Mike is also involved in other charity work in the area.
